Iran War Live Updates:
With the West Asia conflict still hanging in limbo, Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon have killed five people, including a journalist, according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), adding fresh strain to an already fragile ceasefire.
Iran said on Wednesday it would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz while a US naval blockade remains in place, even after a ceasefire extension, as it announced the seizure of two vessels attempting to cross the strategic waterway.
With the next round of talks in Islamabad still uncertain, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday hinted that "good news" on a second round of negotiations with Iran could come as early as Friday, even as Pakistani mediators signalled progress in efforts to revive dialogue, according to a New York Post report.
Stay tuned for latest updates here.

Iran-Israel War Live Updates: Trump orders US Navy to engage vessels laying mines in Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump has announced that he has issued a directive to the United States Navy to open fire on any vessel attempting to lay mines within the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement posted to his Truth Social account, the President declared that there should be no hesitation in neutralising such craft, even if they are small in scale, whilst simultaneously noting that the entirety of the Iranian fleet had previously been incapacitated. Furthermore, Mr Trump confirmed that he has ordered an immediate three-fold increase in the intensity of current mine-clearing operations, insisting that the military must maintain a continuous and robust presence to ensure the waterway remains open.

According to reports from Al Jazeera correspondents on the ground, Israeli forces are actively demolishing residential neighbourhoods within the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil. These actions follow broader observations of systematic destruction across several villages near the border, occurring despite the fragile ceasefire agreement currently in place. Lebanese officials have expressed grave concern regarding the scale of these operations and are expected to raise the issue during ongoing negotiations in Washington.

Iran-Israel War Live Updates: Shipping volumes plummet as Strait of Hormuz standoff intensifies
Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has collapsed in recent days, as dual blockade efforts by Iran and the United States continue to paralyse one of the world's most vital energy corridors. Data from Kpler indicates a dramatic reduction in activity; following a peak of 26 carriers on 18 April, transit rates have fallen to an average of just 4.5 vessels per day between 19 and 22 April.
