Dallas Fort-Worth Airport to install Muslim foot wash stations inside terminal bathrooms
The project was officially registered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on July 31, and will reportedly be completed by the end of the year.
According to records of the project details, the ablution stations will be added to existing restrooms in Terminal D, in both the men's and women's restrooms.
The construction will cost an estimated $300,000, but the burden will not fall on taxpayers as the project is privately funded.
The washing stations will provide a dedicated space in the public airport bathrooms for Muslims to wash their feet before prayer, an Islamic tradition known as Wadu.
