Hey friends, let's build a DIY Murphy Bed Cabinet! This was a challenge to design, but a lot of fun to build, so I hope you enjoy seeing how it came together in this video!
This murphy bed cabinet is designed to be used with a trifold mattress (which is a mattress that folds into thirds). This mattress folds up and stores inside the cabinet and comes in standard mattress sizes (like full, queen, etc). Here's the one I used (aff link: https://amzn.to/43xqH6M)
Trifold mattresses are pretty thin (they come in 4" or 6" foam), and I realized that my original idea of making the supports slatted wouldn't work very well unless you wanted to feel every gap and slat when you laid down on it. So--I decided to make the fold out supports solid instead.
