Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stunned the rumor mill this weekend after posting a casual coffee-shop video mocking viral claims circulating online that he had been killed.
The bizarre conspiracy exploded across social media after pro-Iran accounts and fringe outlets pushed unverified claims suggesting Netanyahu had been killed or seriously wounded during the escalating regional conflict.
The rumors spread rapidly across X, Telegram, and other platforms before being debunked.
But instead of issuing a typical press release, Netanyahu chose a far more sarcastic response.
In a short video filmed at The Sataf near Jerusalem and posted on X, the Israeli prime minister casually ordered coffee and joked about the rumors.
At one point, Netanyahu quipped that he was "dying for coffee," a tongue-in-cheek jab at the viral hoax claiming he had been killed.
The Israeli leader even held up his hands to show he had five fingers on each hand, mocking a bizarre online theory that a previous video of him had been AI-generated because viewers believed they spotted "six fingers."
In the video, Netanyahu also hinted that Israel's operations against Iran and its proxies were continuing, while refusing to provide operational details.
The restaurant also posted behind-the-scenes content on its personal Instagram account.
