The Chancellor noted that Germany is prepared to assist with post conflict stability, specifically mentioning the reopening and protection of vital maritime corridors. Hezbollah has announced a series of rocket and missile strikes directed at an Israeli military base and several northern settlements, alongside engagements with ground forces in southern Lebanon. In updates shared via Telegram on Thursday, 19 March 2026, the group confirmed it had launched projectiles at the Tefen military base, located to the east of Acre, and targeted the settlement of Even Menachem.
The group further claimed to have struck a recently established Israeli military outpost in Nimr al Jamal, situated across from the Lebanese border town of Alma al Shaab.
