There's too much here to squeeze into a regular Wreckage & Rebuild issue, and I wanted to get it to you sooner rather than later; hence this piece. What I'll be explaining is the tack being taken by the Trump family, the entry of the corporate Bitcoin people into private credit, and of course the implications of this for the near future.
So, let's jump into this with the Trumps.
My most interesting info-source on the Trumps was Erik Trump, who I met at the show, and especially from a semi-private Q&A session in a side room to the main show. I met Erik in the green room for the main stage, as we were getting ready to make our presentations; he was on directly after me. Our interaction was very brief (two guys in a dark, quiet room, getting ready for a huge, glitzy stage), but he struck me as an authentic person, not as a plastic persona, as some other public people have. I've never been a master of judging people quickly, but I think this impression is close enough.
