Videos of Steve Bannon speaking with a priest before entering federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, are going viral Monday afternoon.
Bannon, White House chief strategist under the Trump administration and a close ally of the former president was sentenced to four months in October 2022 after he was found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress for failing to respond to a subpoena issued to him by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack.
At a press conference Monday morning, Bannon asks a priest beside him if he'd like to say a few words. In response, the priest said he was not authorized to speak to the media. The priest goes on to tell Bannon that, "He agrees with his positions" and that "He's from the St. Ignatius Retreat House, 15 miles away. I'll get you whatever you need."
