US President Donald Trump on Monday escalated his criticism of Canada amid a deepening tariff dispute between the two countries, saying Washington would "not treat Canada like a State anymore" and accusing Ottawa of unfair trade practices.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Canada had been "ripping off" the US through what he described as "ridiculously high tariffs" on American farmers and agricultural products.

Trump argued that the US had been running an unsustainable trade deficit with Canada, claiming Ottawa's tariff policies had hurt American farmers.
