First of all, I am a decent American man. I treat others like I want to be treated. I am kind to children. I open the door for ladies. I go out of my way to say "Hi" to people I pass on the sidewalk or in a store. I keep my speed safe on the highways. I don't make fun of other individuals.
Yesterday, my neighbor lost her brother to suicide. She called me in distress. I ran over to her house. I held her. I comforted her.
That's what most Americans do—they care about others in their community. They give comfort. If someone suffers an accident, they bring food, company and flowers. Let's face it; Americans have done so many good things for each other, and for the world.
But things are getting out of hand on the national scene. We've got national TV figures, and politicians committing nasty acts of verbal violence that instigates actual violence.
In this past week, pretend-comedian Jimmy Kimmel made one of the most sickening comments I have heard in years. Kimmel, on his show, that aired on April 23 that satirized the then-upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner, pretended to address Melania Trump and joked that the First Lady had "a glow like an expectant widow."
Pure and simple: SICKENING to make such a remark about Melania Trump after her husband had survived two other attempts on his life from assassins. Ironically, a shooter tried to kill Trump at the Correspondent's Dinner at a big hotel over the weekend.
Kimmel's pathetic behavior along with his violent verbosity—instigates real violence from the nut cases that take his words to heart. How would he like it if someone said that about his mother or his wife? It wouldn't be so funny, whatsoever.
How do you think United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson's wife and kids think about such violent comments?
UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot on December 4, 2024, in a targeted attack outside a Manhattan hotel. Suspect Luigi Mangione, 27, was arrested and charged with the murder, pleading not guilty to state and federal charges while awaiting trial.
What's even more sickening stems from the fact that thousands of Americans gave Luigi Mangione millions of dollars to defend himself at his trial. That's pretty sickening.
What about saying such a horrific comment to Erika Kirk, wife of Charlie Kirk, who was gunned down for simply expressing his opinion. That Tyler kid who shot him felt that he had some special "right" to kill Charlie Kirk because he didn't like Kirk's ideals and leadership.
Jimmy Kimmel salutes and instigates that kind of violence as if it were a joke. Well, Mr. Kimmel, have you visited Erika Kirk's home? She's raising two kids on her own because your kind of thinking and violent verbosity got her husband killed.
Ironically, if any of your violent verbosity happened to your family, you would not be laughing.
Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erika Kirk said a "serious epidemic of dehumanization" was plaguing the country Wednesday, speaking after the attack at the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) Dinner. "We are all human beings, and if you can just pause and just take a minute and ask yourself, 'How would you feel if, even just one person, made cruel jokes about the attempted murder of your loved one?' That is what Jimmy Kimmel did to the first lady," she said.
"It seems to me that nothing will ever be enough for the evil in this world," she said at one point. "Our country has become unrecognizable; these people have perverted the truth to the point that they motivated the murder of my husband. "They have continuously tried to assassinate the president, and anyone who stands in their way is labeled 'hateful,' 'racist,' 'fascist and every other trigger word that is grossly dishonest."
Kirk expressed disgust at Cole Allen, the 31-year-old charged in the shooting. He is facing at least three counts, including attempting to assassinate the president of the United States, transporting a gun across state lines and discharging a gun during a crime of violence.
"While we may have big problems with illegal immigration in this country, I have to tell you we have an even bigger problem when it comes to the systemic indoctrination and radicalization of our own citizens," Kirk said. "This is what got my husband killed. This is what has led to three legitimate attempts on President Trump's life," she added. "I can speak firsthand to that unbearable toll that this must take on our first lady."
Whether it's the lies of the Southern Poverty Law Center degrading American journalists, or people like Jimmy Kimmel sewing hatred and anger across the land—-we regular Americans need to speak up. We need to write, call or email ABC to fire Kimmel's butt for his hatred of the President of the United States, and the president's family. Melania didn't deserve any of that vile, hateful speech by Kimmel.
We all need to remember Kimmel's sickening non-humor. And, condemn it. He should be terminated off his show at ABC.
"The 'glow of an expectant widow,' just 48 hours before that nightmare almost became a reality. In this culture we're living in, it absorbs disagreement as a form of personal betrayal, it turns having an opposing viewpoint into a moral crime worthy of punishment," Kirk said.
At the same time, I would recommend that President Trump tone down some of his rhetoric, also. We could use a little kinder and softer president.
I do not have all the answers, but I do know that we, as a society, need to respect one another's opinions. We need to respect our rights to safety. We need to teach our young their responsibilities to our "Social Contract." We need to teach "Personal Accountability" and "Personal Responsibility."
That's the only way we will be able to move forward as a viable and sustainable civilization.
