Iran said on Saturday that negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz are close to completion, but made new demands from the US, including an end to the Naval blockade.
Oman is currently negotiating with Iran to reach an agreement on the use of the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial to ending the US blockade.
According to CBS, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said negotiations with Oman are "approaching the final stages." Still, "this is not a sign of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz," he said.
"The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is subject to other conditions and compensation for the violation of the memorandum of understanding by the United States."
Iran's demands reportedly include an end to the blockade, compensation for war damages, an end to sanctions, and the release of frozen assets as conditions to continue negotiations.
