The Iran War has been unpopular among Americans since the beginning. Now it has reached the point where it appears it would be voted down in the Republican-majority United States House of Representatives — if House leadership would just allow a floor vote on the matter.

The expected Thursday vote in the House to end the Iran War was, at the last minute, put off by House leadership until the House returns from recess next month.

House Republicans on Thursday abruptly canceled a vote to halt the Iran war that would likely have passed, avoiding a political embarrassment to President Donald Trump but causing an uproar on the House floor.

GOP leaders would have had to flip several votes because a half dozen Republicans were absent and party leaders couldn't have won the critical vote for the president. They are postponing it until after lawmakers return from recess in June.
