Unwinding the American Empire should be done voluntarily and rationally. Reality should be faced and accepted. But alas, the power centers that benefit from the Empire want to keep their gravy train going as long as possible. Let future generations deal with the eventual fallout. Instead of having our Middle East bases blown up and destroyed, we should have sold them off and brought our troops home without casualties and severe injuries. Instead of kidnapping foreign leaders and trying to steal their oil, we should not have started the Iran war and drained our oil reserves to try to cover up the consequences. Coming generations will not have to wait for the bad consequences of attempting to hang onto Empire. We're feeling them now, and will continue to do so in the future.
